1. Communication
Clear communication helps tutoring sessions run smoothly. Parents or guardians should provide a current phone number and email address, along with the student's phone number and email when applicable.
For virtual tutoring, please make sure the student's device can access Zoom before the first scheduled session.
2. Rate
Tutoring rates will be provided to each family before services begin. Rates may vary based on the tutoring services selected and the student's individual needs.
3. Invoicing, Payment & Late Fee
Full payment is due by the first day of service for each billing period. Payment details and applicable fees will be provided directly to each family.
Accepted Payment Methods: Debit/Credit Card (through invoice), Zelle, CashApp, and PayPal.
4. Tutoring Schedule
Each family's tutoring schedule will be established before services begin. The start date and agreed-upon weekly tutoring schedule will be provided directly to the family.
5. Notification & Punctuality
Students should be prepared and ready to begin at their scheduled tutoring time. For virtual sessions, a meeting link will be provided, and students may log in up to 5 minutes before the scheduled session.
Students should have a notebook and any other necessary learning materials ready before the session begins.
6. Missed Sessions & No Show/No Call
A minimum of two (2) hours' notice is required to reschedule a tutoring session. Make-up sessions may be rescheduled within the same week if a time slot is available.
7. Schedule Changes
Schedule changes are based on availability. If a change to the regular tutoring schedule is needed, please reach out to discuss available options.
8. Chaperone
Students under age 13 must have a parent, guardian, or approved adult chaperone (18 or older) nearby or in the home for the duration of the tutoring session.
9. Conferences
Regular communication helps families stay informed about their student's progress and success. Parents are encouraged to communicate regularly regarding their student's learning and progress.
At least once a week, parents may receive a follow-up by email, text, or phone with progress updates, recommendations, or additional practice activities.
10. Service Interruption
After two (2) consecutive missed sessions without rescheduling, tutoring services may be considered terminated.
Services may be restarted if a time slot is available, any past-due balance has been paid, and services resume at the current Sankofa Education Services rate.
