About Maralene Ferguson BatesMaralene Ferguson Bates holds degrees in Business Administration and Business Management and graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA from Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York.
She is a Georgia Certified Educator and an approved test facilitator for the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Stanford Tests. Maralene has twice been named in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America for her professional achievements. She also holds international TESOL certification for teaching English as a Second or Other Language. Her teaching experience spans Montessori classrooms, A Beka private schools, and Title 1 public school tutoring. She stays active in community events, especially during summer and Kwanzaa, and continues to support families with tutoring, group classes, and test prep for the SAT, ACT, GED, and ASVAB. Maralene is an entrepreneur who completed the StartME: Clarkston Business Development program, earning a nomination for a business funding award. She keeps growing her skills through ongoing professional development. She is also an Army veteran, earning multiple honors, including the Army Commendation Medal, Airborne Jump Wings, and achieving the rank of Sergeant in under two years. Maralene graduated high school early, attended Monterey Peninsula College during her senior year, and was a debutante with the Monterey Cotillion League. She also enjoyed being part of the Drill Team and Songleaders in high school. Maralene remains dedicated to education, community, and lifelong learning. |
